🎨
Activities to Involve Siblings
Let them help pack the diaper bag or pick out baby clothes
Create a “Big Sibling Kit” with small toys, coloring books, and snacks
Read books together about becoming a big sibling
Practice holding a baby doll and “helping” with diaper changes
Include them in belly bonding time (talking, singing, rubbing lotion on your belly)
🧠
Tips for Parents
Talk honestly and gently about changes ahead
Set aside one-on-one time with each older child post-birth
Let them express their feelings, even if they’re unsure or upset
Reinforce how important and loved they are—before and after baby arrives
Give them their own “job” like being the Baby’s Toy Manager or Official Hug Giver
📦 Bonus Idea: Big Sibling Gift
Have a small gift “from the baby” ready for the older sibling when baby arrives. It helps them feel included and celebrated!
